Cancer is the top disease that children die from in the United States. More than 15,700 children are diagnosed every year. 38 children die of cancer every week.
This September, Miller Family Homes is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight children’s cancer! Our goal is to raise more than $1,000 and cycle 600 miles.
We’re cycling to raise awareness and funds that will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support us by making a team sponsorship donation, sharing our team page online and cycling with us!
As of Tuesday, August 25, we’ve raised $1,051.48 of our $1,000 goal. We’re grateful to those who donated to our team. Help us surpass our goal even more! Let’s get to $1,500!
Keep an eye out for updates along the way on our Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram pages.
The Great Cycle Challenge Team Statements:
Andrew, Estimator: Cycling is one of my favorite hobbies. I rode a lot in high school and even raced a bit with my dad. I learned about this challenge through a coworker. I’m passionate about helping kids with cancer and hope you’ll support our team!
Clint, President: Although I’m not cycling, I’m sponsoring my employees’ team and am excited to see what they accomplish together in September!
Dinah, Controller: I started riding in the Great Cycle Challenge in 2016 only to find out later that year that I had breast cancer. Cancer is a scary word as an adult, but worse if you hear it when your doctor is talking about your child or grandchild. I’m happy to say, I’m cancer free. I’d like for us to erase this word from existence. Help us fight to find a cure!
Elise, Marketing Specialist: I’m riding in memory of my Aunt Darlene who passed away from breast cancer and her husband Chip who has lung and throat cancer. I recently learned another family member has Lymphoma. Cancer gets a big thumbs down from me!
